Przewalski’s Horses

A species apart from domestic horses, Prezewalski’s horses were, until very recently, extinct in the wild and survived only in captivity. The world’s largest program for breeding the sturdy wild horses is at the Askania Nova reserve in southern Ukraine. In a highly controversial program, some of those horses were released into the radioactive wilds of Chernobyl.
