The only places you might see white storks near Chernobyl are in one of the occupied villages, though I went to the zone sixteen times before seeing any. There two youngsters were waiting for their parents to bring home dinner in Paryshiv, a village on the left bank of the Pripyat River that was once home to more than 1000 people. In June, 2005, there were 16.
